Oil Tank Removal Jersey City NJ

Underground Oil Tank discovered during tank sweep

A real estate attorney reached out that found us on Google.  She had a client in Jersey City that was under contract that had an underground tank discovered during the tank sweep inspection.  She asked if we would be able to take on the job as it was in a tight backyard inaccessible by equipment and get it done quickly to meet the closing date.  We advised we could  depending upon the permits being issued quickly and the tank being in great shape without any holes in it.

The permits came back quickly but unfortunately the tank, which ended up being under the footings of the rear deck, had leaked had contaminated the soil.  The job became a much more involved process with an extremely high level of difficulty as we were unable to use equipment to dig out the contaminated soil, it all had to be done by hand.

By the time the job was done we had dug out and carried out to the curb over 7 tons of contaminated soil and carried in about 11 tons of backfill, all in 5 gallon buckets weighing about 50 lbs each totaling about 720 trips.

Ultimately we were able to complete the job and the home closed.
